Koina

Frequently asked

A few common questions.

What does Koina cost?

Nothing today. There's no monthly fee and no per-booking cut. If that changes for some venue types in the future, we'll be upfront about it before it does.

What kind of venue is Koina built for?

Community-run rooms — community halls, church halls, legion halls, lodges, outdoor venues, scout halls, gymnasiums attached to a community organisation. If your space is run by volunteers or a small staff and your calendar lives in a binder, Koina is built for you.

What about insurance?

Koina connects renters to short-term event insurance through Duuo, so the renter can buy a one-day policy in a couple of clicks if your venue requires it. Hosts can require proof of insurance before confirming a booking.

How do damage deposits work?

Hosts can set a deposit amount per room. We hold an authorisation through Stripe at the time of booking and release it after the event if there's no damage to recover.

Do you support recurring bookings?

Yes. A weekly group, a monthly meeting, a seasonal class — set the recurrence on confirmation and the instances populate the calendar automatically.

Is there a contract?

No. You can stop using Koina any time and take your bookings with you — export is a click away.
